- 2020 Rate Case
The IURC approved a 7.5 percent rate increase for LMH on July 29, 2020. A residential customer's monthly bill will rise by $3.80.
The utility filed its petition on October 16, 2019, requesting a 94 percent increase. In the updated petition it filed on January 17, 2020, the utility reduced its request to 24 percent. LMH further reduced its request to less than 8 percent in rebuttal testimony filed on May 13, 2020.
The OUCC recommended limiting the increase to less than 3 percent, in testimony filed on March 27, 2020:
An IURC public field hearing was held on February 13, 2020. The OUCC issued a news release earlier this year to invite consumer comments.
All publicly filed documents in Cause No. 45307-U are available online in the IURC case file.
LMH is seeking the rate increase through the state's Small Utility Filing Procedure. The procedure is a streamlined process aimed at reducing rate case expenses. But the standard of review by the OUCC and IURC is the same as in all rate cases.
Previous rates for LMH were approved in 2009.
