About Us

The Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Section (MSS) was created in 2005 when the first pseudoephedrine (PSE) controls were passed in Indiana placing all cold and allergy products containing the active ingredient pseudoephedrine or ephedrine behind the counter, in a locked display case or under constant video monitoring. Personnel assigned to MSS began full-time, proactive methamphetamine investigations on January 16, 2006.  The pseudoephedrine law was updated in the 2010, 2011, and 2013 legislative sessions.  Click on the Meth Laws link to view the current statute.

This website is dedicated to continuing the MSS mission of building partnerships between public and private entities to fight the ongoing proliferation of meth manufacture in our communities.

Methamphetamine comes from two sources; importation through foreign countries and domestic production in clandestine drug labs around the state.  While amphetamine, methcathinone, LSD, ecstasy, PCP, and GHB can be manufactured in clandestine laboratories, the vast majority of the labs seized in Indiana are manufacturing methamphetamine or meth.   The terms clandestine lab and meth lab are used interchangeably.

This website is dedicated to educating the public about issues related to methamphetamine and providing Indiana law enforcement officers the very best information and investigative leads on meth in communities all over the state of Indiana.

Report suspected meth activity.
