2020 Census Programs

Count Question Resolution Operation (CQR) U.S. Census Bureau

The Census Bureau established the 2020 Census Count Question Resolution Program (CQR) by which state, local, and tribal area elected officials may challenge their jurisdiction's 2020 Census counts. On December 1, 2021, the Count Question Resolution (CQR) Program began accepting 2020 Census challenge submissions. All challenges must be postmarked or received by the Census Bureau no later than June 30, 2023. The submission period was shortened for the 2020 Census due to COVID-19.

Post-Census Group Quarters Review (PCGQR)

Eligible tribal, state, and local governmental units can start submitting cases for review on June 6, 2022. Cases will be accepted until June 30, 2023.

Special Census Program U.S. Census Bureau

A special census is a basic enumeration of population, housing units, and group quarters conducted by the Census Bureau at the request of a governmental unit. They are conducted on a cost-reimbursable basis. For special census purposes, a governmental unit is defined as the government of any state, county, city, or other political subdivision within a state. The Special Census Program will resume in 2023.
