About Indiana Correctional Industries

Indiana Correctional Industries (ICI) is committed to empowering people through job training for success during and after incarceration.  The hands-on work experience offered to incarcerated individuals through ICI’s job training program helps to develop technical skills for job performance and transferable skills like communication, problem-solving and teamwork in an environment that encourages a strong work ethic as well as personal growth and development.

By providing meaningful and realistic work environments inside Indiana’s correctional facilities, ICI helps incarcerated individuals successfully return to their communities with the skills and experience needed to obtain gainful employment post-release, thereby creating safer communities and reducing the likelihood of recidivism.

Meanwhile, potential employers who are looking to fill employment gaps with qualified candidates can benefit from hiring individuals who previously took part in a job training program with ICI, as ICI program participants have years of relevant experience and training.  Additionally, employers who hire recently released incarcerated individuals may be eligible to participate in the Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC).
