Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016

Legacy Projects > Carroll County Courthouse Centennial Carroll County Courthouse Centennial

Celebration of the Centennial of the Carroll County Courthouse begins with the 100th anniversary of cornerstone laying on Labor Day 1916 and ending in the fall of 2017 on completion of construction. The present courthouse is the third for Carroll County. The first dedicated structure on the square was built in 1831, the second in 1956/58, and the third in 1916/17. A new watercolor painting of the courthouse was commissioned and will be displayed during special events, including the the Bicentennial Torch Relay on October 6 and the Carroll County Barn Tour on October 8, when the Indiana Bicentennial Quilt will also be displayed.
