The Indiana State Archives is the official repository for Indiana state records of permanent historical value. The State Archives is home to over two-hundred years of Indiana history, including military, land, and court records.

Location and Hours:
Appointments are highly encouraged for the reading room so that records can be retrieved prior to your visit. To schedule an appointment, please contact the Archives by email or phone. The State Archives is closed on all State Holidays. As always, you can utilize the Research Indiana Catalog and Research Indiana Index from home.

Parking:
Visitors can park for free in the Senate Avenue Parking Garage (220 N Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202) directly to the east of the State Archives building. Please pull a ticket and bring inside the Indiana State Archives building for parking validation.
