United Collection Bureau Partnership
The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) contracts with United Collection Bureau, Inc. (UCB) as a legal collection agent authorized (Indiana Code 6-8.1-8-4) to collect delinquent tax liabilities.
The collection agency will collect the total balance owed and may choose the following methods of collection including:
- Wage garnishments
- Levy of bank accounts
External Tax Lien Balance Lookup
To check a lien balance, you will need a warrant number or warrant number and ID. Select which option you are checking your balance with, enter the warrant number or warrant number and ID, and select “Lookup Lien”.
The ID types that are accepted are as follows:
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
The next page will show you the current balance owed. If no lien balance is shown, an active lien was not found. If a warrant balance is shown, you will have the option to pay that balance. If mailing a payment, you must include the warrant number(s) and send it to Indiana Department of Revenue, PO Box 595, Indianapolis, IN 46206-0595.
The webpage can be printed for your records reflecting the balance due. While on INTIME, do not click the back button until you are finished, otherwise, you will lose your page.

Tax practitioners with questions about a client’s liabilities:
- Must have the following available before calling the UCB hotline:
- Power of Attorney (POA) information
- DOR Tax Identification Number (TID) and/or Warrant number
