Retirement celebration to honor Justice Steven David
A retirement celebration for Justice Steven H. David will take place on Tuesday, August 30 in the Indiana Supreme Court Courtroom at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The celebration will be live webcast at courts.in.gov.
Justice David is Indiana’s 106th Supreme Court justice. He will step down from the bench on August 31, 2022, after nearly 30 years as a judicial branch leader. He was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2010 and was previously elected trial court judge in Boone County.
During his career, he authored more than 200 opinions and served with 8 justices. A more complete biography and high-resolution photograph can be found online.
On June 10, Governor Eric Holcomb selected Court of Appeals Judge Derek Molter to fill the vacancy from the nominees submitted by the Judicial Nominating Commission. Details on his investiture will be released at a later date.
