Purpose
The Committee will oversee compliance with the GAL Guidelines and Code of Ethics to help ensure GALs serving on family law cases (not juvenile cases) are qualified, have background checks and complete required initial and ongoing training requirements. The Committee is also responsible for addressing complaints submitted on GALs for noncompliance with GAL Standards and Code of Ethics. The Committee will help develop and oversee a GAL Registry that provides information on qualified GALs to courts and the public. The Committee will meet at a minimum on a bi-monthly basis.
