DUTIES OF THE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE
The trustee of the civil township has certain specific duties to perform. Some of the most important and most frequently performed duties are listed herein:
- Keep a written record of official proceedings (Township Form 14, General Record);
- Manage all township property interest;
- Keep township records open for public inspection;
- Attend all meetings of the township board;
- Receive and pay out township funds;
- Examine and settle all accounts and demands chargeable against the township;
- Administer township assistance;
- Perform the duties of fence viewer;
- Provide and maintain cemeteries;
- Provide fire protection;
- File an annual personnel report (Form 100R) with the State Board of Accounts;
