Below is a list of product enhancements received from the Schneider Corporation. Click the links below to learn about product enhancement(s) released at particular points in time.
- July 15, 2011 - New expanded features include: 1) Toggle Map Size: users working in the full screen map size, now have access to turn on/off data layers. Located along the bottom left side of the screen in full screen, is a Tab. Click on the Tab and the layers list appears > Check on/off all additional data layers > Click back on the Tab and the layers list collapses; 2) Visual connection: users will notice a red highlight appear when their cursor is placed over a selected feature in the map display, the feature's information will highlight in red in the Info Pane. The reverse is also true when the cursor is over the Info Pane, the feature will highlight in red in the map display. Establishing a visual connection between the Info Pane and the map display.
- July 1, 2011 - New features include: 1) Hover tool: a user's specified setting is available when the Identify tool is active. It is located in the upper right hand corner of the map display; 2) Collapsible toolbars: a user can select on a categorized tool, choose a tool and then click back on the main categorized tool to collapse the toolbar or they can leave the categorized tool expanded for easy access. The user chooses how they want to use the tools; 3) Download map image: users can choose to download the map display instantly, click the download map image located on the far right of the toolbar.
- April 25th-April 29th, 2011 Beacon Map Engine Upgrade - Noble County's map engine is upgraded to use ArcGIS Server technology. Users will have an improved mapping experience with some new mapping features. Register for one of Schneider's free one-half hour webinars which will demonstrate the new mapping environment and features.
- September 22, 2009 Beacon Enhancements - New features include: Google Street View (only available upon purchase).
- February 17, 2009 Beacon Enhancements - New features include: Property Photo Thumbnails in Search Results Module, Module Scroll Bars, User Defined Scale for both Map and Print Scale, Primary Contact Email and Notification Email List editor, and Info Pane and Main and Layer Disclaimer editor.
- November 17, 2008 Beacon Enhancements - New features include: Map Tips ON/OFF setting and updated Measure Tool/Printable Measurements Feature.
- August 21, 2008 Beacon Enhancements - New features include: Map Tips and updated Comparable Search.
- May 14, 2008 Beacon Enhancements - New features include: new Mailing Label feature, measure tool enhancement, condo support, and a printing upgrade.
- May 7, 2008 New Beacon Support Website - Schneider Corp launches Beacon support website.
Below is a list of enhancements made by Noble County to available GIS layers, map display, or added features purchased by the county.
- February 10, 2014 - The Street Centerlines layer has new symbology showing the entity in authority of the roadway. View the updated Street Centerline symbology under the Legend. A new "Hwy Shields" has been added providing control of the visibility of US and State road shield labels.
- February 7, 2014 - The Noble County Jurisdictional Zoning area has been updated to reflect the zoning changes made under the County's Unified Zoning Ordinance. This layer reflects zoning changes applied from September 23, 2013. Zoning lying within road rights-of-way has been changed to "Open Space - OS."
- February 15, 2012 - Added 2012 Proposed Zoning changes for the Noble County Plan Commission Office. These zoning changes correspond to the new Unified Development Ordinance still under consideration.
- November 23, 2011 - Added 2011 Christmas Events GIS layer to Beacon. This layer features thirty Christmas related events occurring in various areas of the county. This is a temporary layer which will be removed after the Christmas holiday season.
- December 7, 2010 - Added 2010 Christmas Events GIS layer to Beacon. This layer features thirteen Christmas related events occurring in various areas of the county. This is a temporary layer which will be removed after the Christmas holiday season.
- November 23, 2010 - Added new Cemeteries GIS layer to Beacon. This layer features a Quick Zoom drop down box located on the command bar. Use this drop down box to select a cemetery in the list and have Beacon zoom to the location. Also, a Quick Zoom drop down box has been added for the Subdivisions layer in Beacon. Click a subdivision from the drop down list and have Beacon zoom to the location.
- September 13, 2010 - Added new Historical Markers point layer showing the location of historical marker signs identifying all the historic sites in Noble County, Indiana. These signs have been placed and maintained by the Noble County Historical Society.
- Summer 2010 - Updated Watersheds layer by removing Administrative watersheds (watershed lines were manually drawn from paper watershed maps) and replaced with computer generated watersheds (watershed lines were generated by computer using GIS information); new categories of subsheds were developed.
- Fall 2009 - Zoning County Wide layer was removed in Beacon and replaced with separate zoning layers for the following entities: County (covering rural parts of county governed by Noble Co. Plan Commission); Albion; Avilla; Cromwell; Kendallville; Ligonier; Rome City; Wolcottville (zoning maintained by LaGrange Co).
- Fall 2009 - Added new Proposed Zoning Changes layer showing proposed zoning changes made by the proposed Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), Draft E.
