- Hazmat Response Due to Punctured Saddle Tank
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2022 AT 10:31AM
Noble County EMA was on the scene of a diesel spill caused by a ruptured saddle tank on State Road 3 near Avilla on Tuesday. IDEM was made aware of the spill in accordance with Indiana spill rule 327 IAC 2-6.1, and a remediation crew was contacted to clean up the diesel fuel by the trucking company.
The Kendallville Hazmat team was called in to plug the hole in the tractors saddle tank. Also assisting on scene was Avilla Fire Department, Avilla PD, Noble County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police and Noble County EMS.
- Noble County EMA Responds to Storm Damage

Noble County EMA responded to northeastern Noble County on Monday evening to evaluate storm damage. Evidence indicates that this damage was caused by straight line winds. A report was sent on to the National Weather Service for review.

- EMA Donates Personal Protective Equipment to Noble County Firefighters

The Noble County Emergency Management Agency recently donated sets of personal protective equipment to firefighters in Noble County to keep in their personal vehicles so they have protection when they are called out and arrive on scene. Each pack includes two types of mask, two protective gowns, gloves, sanitizer and a face shield.

RED – WARNING:
Travel may be restricted to emergency personnel only. Citizens are directed to refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operation plans, and comply with the directions of properly identified officers. Further and more specific restrictions may be included in the disaster declaration.
ORANGE – WATCH:
Conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Only essential travel is recommended (i.e., to and from work, emergency situations, etc.). Emergency action plans have been or should now be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.
YELLOW – ADVISORY:
Routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Citizens should use caution or avoid these areas. Schools and businesses may begin to implement their emergency action plans.
WHITE – CAUTION:
A condition may develop that limits or hinders travel in isolated areas. No travel restrictions have been placed in effect by county officials, but citizens should be alert to changing conditions.
