UPDATE (8-19-2020): The IURC approved settlement agreements in this case on May 13, 2020 and Aug. 19, 2020.
The City of Martinsville and the OUCC have reached a settlement agreement in IURC Cause No. 45262.
Under the agreement, a monthly residential water bill for 5,000 gallons would rise from $29.64 to $33.88 when fully phased in. A bill at the same amount would have risen to $35.50 under the city's original proposal. The agreement, which would implement the increase in 3 phases, is pending before the IURC which may adopt, deny, or modify any agreement before it.

This page will be updated based on case developments. Only the city's water rates are at issue in this case. State law does not give the IURC oversight of municipal sewer rates, which are set by elected city and town councils.
Martinsville's current water rates and charges received IURC approval in 2012.
