Citizens Water of Westfield
Citizens Water of Westfield is requesting a $3 million (21.62%) rate increase in Cause No. 46020. The utility filed its petition and the following testimony on Mar. 6, 2024:
The OUCC is the state agency - separate from the IURC - that represents all consumers in cases before the Commission.
In testimony filed on June 21, 2024, the OUCC is recommending denial of the request:
Rebuttal testimony from the utility is due July 22, 2024. Westfield's sewer and natural gas rates - and rates for Citizens Energy Group's Marion County utilities - are not at issue in this case.
All publicly filed documents in the pending rate case (Cause No. 46020) are available on the Commission's website.
The IURC held a public field hearing in Westfield on June 17, 2024. The OUCC issued a June 4, 2024 news release to invite consumer comments.
Most rate cases take approximately 300 days to complete, and a final order from the IURC is expected winter 2025. The OUCC's timeline outlines the steps in the process.
This page will be updated based on case developments.
