Update (8/10/22): The IURC issued orders in this case on Jun. 28, 2022 and Aug 10, 2022.
CenterPoint Energy is requesting IURC approval to build and operate two natural gas combustion turbines at the A.B. Brown power plant site in Posey County. According to the utility's testimony, the turbines would cost approximately $323 million and would produce a combined 460 megawatts of electricity.
In the following testimony filed on Nov. 19, 2021, the OUCC is recommending denial of CenterPoint Energy’s request. In the alternative, the OUCC’s analysis recommends the utility refurbish, convert, and refuel its existing A. B. Brown coal-fired units to natural gas.
