Resident Requirements
Indiana residents desiring a surplus lines producer insurance license must:
- Hold an Indiana Property & Casualty producer license before applying for a surplus lines license.
- Take the Surplus Lines exam.
- Provide Property and Casualty license at the test site in lieu of a pre-licensing certificate.
- Apply for Surplus Lines license online at either www.sircon.com or www.nipr.com, or through the uniform NAIC paper application. Resident license fee of $80. *All license application fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
- Business entities must hold the Resident Producer Organization license with the Property & Casualty line of authority before applying for the Surplus Lines license. They must also identify at least one licensed surplus lines producer before the entity can be licensed for surplus lines.
- If more than one individual is named, each individual must be licensed in Indiana as a surplus lines producer.
Non-Resident Requirements
- A non-resident applicant may not apply for a surplus lines license in Indiana unless currently licensed for surplus lines authority in their home state
- Apply for Surplus Lines license at either www.sircon.com or www.nipr.com, or through the uniform NAIC paper application.
- License fee of $120, unless a retaliatory fee applies to your resident state. *All license application fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
- Business entities must identify at least one licensed surplus lines producer before the entity can be licensed for surplus lines.
- If more than one individual is named, each individual must be licensed in Indiana as a surplus lines producer.
