The initial resident producer license application process consists of the following three steps:
- PRE-LICENSING EDUCATION. Complete a pre-licensing education course from an IDOI-approved course provider. Approved courses may be located at www.sircon.com/Indiana by selecting "Look Up Education Courses/Credits" and selecting "Approved Courses Inquiry."
A Pre-licensing Education Certificate of Completion will be issued by your pre-licensing education provider at the end of your course. The certificate is valid for six months. Under Indiana Code 27-1-15.6-6(c), you must pass your exam and apply for your license during this six-month period. - EXAMINATION. Pass the Indiana Producer Examination. Follow the Examination Procedure and Guidelines to properly schedule and prepare for an examination. *Note: Certain lines of authority do not require an examination.*
Life, Health, Life & Health, Property & Casualty and Personal Lines examinations include the IN State Laws & Regulations. Individuals who receive a waiver of pre-licensing education are only required to complete the State Laws & Regulations examination. If the wrong examination is completed, you will be required to retake the correct exam prior to your license being issued. - ONLINE APPLICATION. Submit a license application online through either www.sircon.com/Indiana or www.nipr.com. There is a nonrefundable application fee of $40 and an online processing fee. NOTE: Applicants may check the status of their applications online through www.sircon.com/indiana by selecting "Check license application status," or through www.nipr.com through the "Licensing Center" section. *Application submissions will remain "Pending" or "Under State Review" until all 3 Steps are complete. Application submissions still incomplete after 30 days from the submission date will be closed for deficiency.
