Precertification Education (PE)
As part of the initial application process to become an Indiana Navigator, all Indiana Navigator applicants must complete precertification education (PE) prior to taking the certification examination. The topics of the Navigator PE training include information on consumer assistance, the federally-facilitated Marketplace, and Indiana Health Coverage Programs (such as Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Healthy Indiana Program (HIP 2.0)). In order to complete Navigator PE, individuals will need to locate an IDOI-approved Navigator PE course provider. The cost of Navigator PE may vary based on the source of the training.
- Find an Approved Navigator PE Provider (select "Approved Courses Inquiry" ---> select "Indiana" and click "Submit" ---> under Education Type, select "Pre-Licensing Education," check the "Navigator PE" box and click "Submit")

Continuing Education (CE)
Each year, in order to maintain current knowledge and understanding of consumer assistance, the federally-facilitated Marketplace, and Indiana Health Coverage Programs, all Indiana Navigators must complete a minimum two (2) hours of continuing education (CE) from an IDOI-approved Navigator CE course provider. Like the precertification education, an Indiana Navigator may use his or her associated Application Organization or a third party training entity as a source for continuing education. The cost of Navigator CE may vary based on the source of the training.
- Find an Approved Navigator CE Provider (select "Approved Courses Inquiry" ---> select "Indiana" and click "Submit" ---> leave Education Type as "Continuing Education," check the "Navigator CE" box and click "Submit")
