The Indiana Department of Insurance performs market conduct examinations of insurance companies and other licensed entities to determine whether they are in compliance with contract provisions and state laws, rules, and regulations. Market conduct examinations are performed as required to substantiate market conduct problems or to remedy market conduct problems. If the commissioner determines that regulatory action is appropriate as a result of an examination, the commissioner may initiate any proceeding or action authorized by law.
The results of the examination are contained in the adopted reports. The report and related final order from the commissioner may be found under enforcement actions. If you are searching for an exam completed prior to January 1, 2007 you should complete a public records request.
