Public school corporations may establish trusts to establish and maintain insurance coverage. Pursuant to Indiana Code (IC) 20-42.5-2-1, (additional guidance is also provided in Rule 760 IAC 1-75 a School Trust doing business in Indiana must register with the Indiana Department of Insurance.
To register a school trust, please provide the following information in a three-ring binder tabbed according to the list of required items in the application.

- Biographical Affidavit Form (originally signed and notarized) - Item 15
Upon receipt of application an invoice will be sent for the registration fee of $350. Payment will be remitted electronically via NAIC OPTins payment system. You will need to start setup of the account as it may take a minimum of 3 weeks to complete.

After IDOI receives the proper filing and review is completed, a letter of registration will be prepared and sent to the contact person listed on the application.
Once a School Trust has been registered, Annual and Quarterly filings are required per 760 IAC 1-75-8.
