Text
Here Daniel Yount converted his carding mill into a woolen mill in 1849. For five decades it was a leading industrial activity in Montgomery County and during the Civil War sold grade A wool to the national government. It ultimately was a steam mill, finally closing when problems of wool supply and transportation forced abandonment of the enterprise.
