The Indiana State Department of Health publishes reports on births, deaths, marriages, and pregnancy terminations annually. These reports are based on data obtained from vital statistics reported to the Division of Vital Records.
Birth Reports
Also known as Natality reports, birth reports provide an in-depth look at the number of live births that occurred in the State of Indiana during a specified year. Information analyzed for these reports includes the mother’s county of residence, the mother’s race, the method of delivery, and the risk factors present at birth, among many others.
Death Reports
Also known as Mortality reports, death reports provide an in-depth look at the number of deaths that occurred in the State of Indiana during a specified year. Information analyzed for these reports includes the decedent’s county of residence, the decedent’s race, the decedent’s gender, and the cause of death, among others.
Marriage Reports
Provide an in-depth look at the number of marriages that occurred in the State of Indiana during a specified year. Information analyzed for these reports includes race, date, and residence of the marriage applicants, among others.
Terminated Pregnancy Reports
Provide an in-depth look at the number of pregnancy terminations that occurred in the State of Indiana during a specified year. Information analyzed for these reports includes the mother’s county of residence, the mother’s race, and the procedure used for termination, among others.
