Quality Improvement (IQIP)

iqipIQIP is a 12-month process where public health representatives and VFC providers collaborate to identify QI strategies to increase vaccine uptake by improving and enhancing immunization workflow.

The Initial Site Visit
  • Observe provider workflow
  • Review initial coverage
  • Select QI strategies
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Choose action items for the strategy implementation plan
2 Month and 6 Month check-in
  • Review progress toward strategy implementation
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Update strategy implementation plan
12 Month Follow Up
  • Review progress toward strategy implementation
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Review year-over-year coverage change
IQIP Tips
  • Schedule the next vaccine with the patient prior to them leaving the office
  • Provide the patient with their vaccine information
  • Provide patient reminders when their next vaccine is due
  • Provide positive education to patients and providers on vaccines
  • Break the vaccine myths and assist patients in understanding the truth about the vaccines
