Gigi Bartholomew
Administrative Assistant

Gigi serves as the Center Administrative Assistant. She completed her Administrative Assistant studies in Kansas while raising her two children, an experience that shaped and dedicated her reslience. She is a lover of lavender farms, horses, wolves, and peaceful moments reading by the lake or beach.
Laura Burklew
Early Intervention Coordinator

Laura serves as the Early Intervention Coordinator at the Center. She has a background in child development and public health. Outside of work, you'll likely find Laura adventuring the great outdoors with family and friends or getting lost in whatever book everyone's talking about.
Amber Byrd
Parent Education Resource Liason

Amber Byrd serves as the Parent Education Resource Liaison (PERL) for the Center, connecting with families across Indiana to ensure they receive clear guidance, informed support, and meaningful resources throughout the referral and assessment process. Amber’s is a licensed Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing whose extensive background in Deaf Education, combined with her strong communication skills and family‑centered approach, allows her to build trusted relationships and help families navigate services with confidence.
Bethany Colson

Bethany serves as the Center's Executive Director. She has a background in speech-language pathology, dedicating her career to work with children who are deaf and hard of hearing, with a particular focus in early intervention. While Bethany grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as an IU graduate and a resident in the Indianapolis area for 20+ years, she considers herself a true Hoosier.
Rebekah Cunningham
Audiologist

Dr. Cunningham serves as an audiologist at the Center, seeing children of all ages from birth to school age ensuring timely access to identification and intervention. She has focused on pediatric audiology with more than 25 years of experience working with children and serving the profession: presenting, publishing and instructing. Rebekah and her dog are a certified therapy team, working at libraries, schools and hospitals to help people of all ages feel better.
Annie Dempsey
Pediatric Audiologist

Dr. Annie serves as a pediatric audiologist at the Center. She provides bilingual services for our Spanish-speaking families and specializes in early intervention, serving as a First Steps and HAAPI provider. Annie grew up in Indianapolis and returned to the area after her graduate school studies, living in Broad Ripple with her husband and two orange cats.
Griffin Engle

Dr. Griffin serves as an audiologist at the Center and is a First Steps and HAAPI provider. He completed his undergraduate and graduate education at Purdue University and has additional experience as a behavioral therapist for autistic children. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and dog, Westie.
Linda Evans

Linda serves as the Early Intervention Administrative Assistant. She completed her Administrative Assistance studies in San Diego, California where she lived for 15 years before moving to Indianapolis. She has three daughters, five grandchildren and three dogs. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her grandchildren.

Jacqueline Hall-Katter
Assessment and Audiology Services Lead

Jacqueline serves as the assessment and audiology services lead for the Center. As a speech-language pathologist and board-certified specialist in child language, she graduated from Purdue University and has focused exclusively with deaf and hard of hearing children and DHH children with additional needs throughout her career.
Sarah Kiefer
Deaf Education Coordinator

Sarah is the Deaf Education Coordinator who brings a blend of expertise in Deaf Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Technology Leadership, and Administration. She has taught learners of all ages, from preschoolers to adults, and regularly presents statewide and nationally to share her passion with educators. When she’s not supporting others, you’ll likely find her in her happy place near the water.
Kelsey Large
Educational Diagnostician

Kelsey serves as an Educational Diagnostician at the Center. She holds an MA in Deaf Education, a PhD in special education, and is a certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. Her clinical background includes classroom and itinerant teaching. When she's not working, you'll find Kelsey hanging out with her dogs and horse, or reading a long novel.
Laura Leffler

Laura is the Center Accommodation Specialist, a former teacher of the deaf, and an RID Certified sign language interpreter dedicated to creating accessible and inclusive environments. Her career is rooted in advocacy, communication, and empowering individuals through thoughtful support. If Laura ever won the lottery, you'd find her tucked away in a cozy cabin writing her dark‑humor novel and caring for her happily chaotic menagerie of pets.
Kjari Newell
Network Lead and Compliance Manager
