The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee is beginning the process of selecting two new superior court judges to fill vacancies. One vacancy begins February 3, 2024, when Judge Heather A. Welch (Court 1, Civil Division) retires. The second vacancy is due to the passing of Judge Shatrese M. Flowers (Court 28, Criminal Division).

Following local court rules, the Marion Superior Court Executive Committee offered any sitting judge the opportunity to transfer courts. The transfer period has closed. Therefore, the vacancies are in Court 15, Family Division and Court 28, Criminal Division.
