A Fair Day: RSI at the 2022 Indiana State Fair
The 2022 Indiana State Fair ran from July 29 – August 21, during that time the folks at RSI visited the BMV booth on August 5th and 19th.
Members of RSI came out to the BMV booth to answer questions about motorcycle training and endorsement. They also had some fun, showing off on the motorcycle simulator and testing visitors range of sight. Sarah Dickerson, of the Marketing and Communications Team, stepped up to test her vision. “When the test started out, I was confident I had a wide field of vision,” Sarah stated at the fair. “I was in marching band throughout high school and college. In marching band, they teach you how to use your peripheral vision. But after two tries I found out that it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be.”
During the peripheral vision test the participant stands on a mat with multiple angles of degrees printed on top. One assistant holds a large playing card in front, while another assistant walks from the side to the front holding a different large playing card. The goal is for the participant to keep their eyes on the card in front of them while the other assistant walks around their side. The participant lets the assistants know when they can see the color and suit of the card.
Visitors also enjoyed viewing the two motorcycles the RSI team brought to display, a black Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and a blue sport bike Yamaha YZF. Jeff Stokes was one of the volunteers at RSI Day, he said that these new bikes are available for anyone training with RSI to use. He mentioned the increase in interest in riding sport bikes, hence the new Yamaha.
Throughout the two RSI days at the State Fair many people stopped in to ask about an endorsement and training courses. We all are already looking forward to the 2023 State Fair! To stay up to date on all things RSI be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
