Going out on the roads for a motorcycle ride can be exhilarating. However, one of the worst feelings is looking in your side mirror and seeing those flashing blue and red lights. The best way to avoid getting pulled over is to ride sober.
Riding under the influence of alcohol and drugs can impair your judgement, reaction time, balance, control, and ability to operate a motorcycle. In addition, it creates a dangerous situation for other drivers and motorcyclists around you. Not to mention, in 2017 28% of motorcyclists were drunk when they were killed in a crash.
Look out for yourself as well as those around you. While you ride sober, make sure your loved ones do the same.
Ride Safe Indiana and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reminds Hoosiers to ride sober or get pulled over this motorcycle season. To learn more about motorcycle safety and riding alcohol and drug free visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
