An advanced meter opt-out tariff for IPL's residential customers has received IURC approval.
The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana (CAC), and IPL reached a settlement agreement in the case. Settlement testimony from the parties, including the OUCC, was filed on August 14, 2020.
The approved agreement will establish a $48.00 up front charge for customers who wish to opt out of advanced metering (AMI or AMR) use. It will also establish a $20.00 monthly charge for customers who opt out and choose manual meter readings by IPL. There will be no monthly charge for a customer choosing to self-read the meter.
The file for IURC Cause No. 45264-S1 is available by clicking here. It includes all publicly filed documents in the case.
