Visit IndianaLegalHelp.orgPublic invited to provide feedback on two proposed administrative rules regarding public access
April 4, 2025 | Notice
The Indiana Supreme Court seeks public input on two proposed changes to the Administrative Rules.
- The proposed change to Rule 14 would finalize an interim rule allowing remote hearings in court cases. Courts began regularly holding hearings by video conference during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the updated rule would establish this as a new norm instead of a response to extraordinary circumstances.
- The proposed new Rule 23 would allow the public, media, and attorneys to bring electronic devices into courthouses around the state and would disallow any local rule that prohibits them. Judges would still have discretion to manage use of such devices in the courtroom.
