Training provided by Ivy Tech Community College.
The Indiana Supreme Court, Indiana Judicial Center, and Division of State Court Administration partnered with Ivy Tech Community College to develop a workplace Spanish curriculum for court employees. The curriculum will be presented through 24 hours of instruction. The course is now delivered in three formats: (1) classroom instruction course, (2) Instructor led on-line instruction course, and (3) self study on-line course. The course textbook will contain basic information needed by court employees to effectively communicate information to Spanish-speaking individuals. Along with the textbook, participants will receive a CD-ROM to assist in maintaining the skills learned in this course. Additional materials to enhance participant's learning will be distributed by the instructors. A range of topics are covered in this course including: greetings and introductions; dates and times; numbers; telephone reception phrases; eliciting personal information; providing directions to other offices; explaining courtroom procedures; referencing court documents; and much more.
This course is designed to provide basic means of communication and will not result in someone being fluent in the entire Spanish language.
If you are interested in the Instructor led on-line course or the self study on-line course, please review the computer specifications and set-up information prior to registering for these courses.
