In Cause No. 41962, the
Commissioners want to determine if the merger of Virginia- based AES and
Indianapolis Power and Light, and the subsequent restructuring of IPALCOs work force, is having a negative
impact on the utilities customers.
The question was raised by many customers who called the Commission to
complain because it took so long for the utility to re-establish electric
service after thunderstorms in mid-July.
IPALCO provides retail electric service to approximately 433,000
residential, commercial and industrial customers in Indianapolis and other
central Indiana communities.
