Today the Indiana
Utility Regulatory Commission approved a request by the City of Delphi, Indiana
Municipal Water Utility to implement a two-phase rate increase to pay for
improvements to the city�s water utility.
Cause No. 40953, is
a modification to a settlement agreement with the Indiana Office of the Utility
Consumer Counselor reached in 1998 and will be implemented in two phases.� The utility is authorized to increase rates
immediately to pay for improvements that have already been completed.
The average bill
for customers who use 5000-gallons of water a month will increase from $14.60
to $20.51.
The second phase of
the increase will be implemented when the company finishes the construction of
a new well field and water treatment plant.
The City of Delphi
Water Utility is located in Carroll County, Indiana.� It serves nearly 1200 residents.
