REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS FOR NEWBORN SCREENING OF SEVERE COMBINED IMMUNODEFICIENCY (SCID) AND SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY (SMA)

Applicants for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency(SCID) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) must collaborate with and demonstrate a partnership with the Newborn Screening Laboratory Manager, Barb Lesko, in addition to the ISDH Genomics and Newborn Screening team. Applicants must assist in the development of follow-up methods including confirmatory testing and care coordination in compliance with ISDH Genomics and Newborn Screening program’s best practices to guarantee timely disease intervention and best efforts to ensure no child is lost to follow-up and is also provided with appropriate treatment and care. Respondents need to include established follow-up processes in their submitted proposals. Please contact Barb Lesko to establish follow-up processes at bglesko@iupui.edu or (317) 491-6682.
