INDOT is proposing a roundabout at the intersection of State Road 19 and Division Road in Tipton County. The need for this project is due to the higher-than-expected frequency and severity of crashes at the intersection. Between 2019 and 2021, there were 13 crashes at the two-way stop-controlled intersection. Of those, approximately 76% were right-angle or rear-end crashes. Seven of the crashes resulted in fatal or incapacitating injuries. An all-way stop has already been installed to increase safety at the intersection, with the roundabout proposed as a permanent solution. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2027.
