S.R. 109 Pavement Rehabilitation Project
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that closures are planned on State Road 109 in Wilkinson. Lane closures are in place on S.R. 109 between County Road 650 N. and F Street for storm water work. Flaggers are on site to assist with traffic flow. On or after Friday, July 17, crews will shift to a full closure of S.R. 109 between C.R. 650 N. and F St. This closure is expected to last through the end of August. During this closure, drivers are encouraged to follow the official detour of State Road 234, State Road 9, and I-70 or seek an alternate route. The S.R. 109 Pavement Rehabilitation Project in Wilkinson aims to restore the existing roadway and includes full-depth road reconstruction, improved drainage, and sidewalk reconstruction. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2027. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
