Management Information Systems

Management Information Systems (MIS) provides necessary technologies to plan, design, build and maintain Indiana’s transportation infrastructure. Information Technology (IT) staff builds and maintains multiple systems for multiple purposes. By providing leading IT solutions, INDOT is better able to meet state and federal reporting requirements, help improve highway safety, lower maintenance and construction costs and plan highway projects where they are most needed, providing the largest economic impact.

A few of the technologies and systems that are utilized by MIS are CAD designing software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), PeopleSoft technologies for finance and human resources, Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehousing, Oracle UCM and BPM for document management and workflow, Microsoft Share Point for collaboration, SAS tools for statistical analysis, asset inventory systems, industry specific estimating/letting/construction/materials testing systems, and proprietary web-based systems.
