Columns for Staff and Offenders Positive for COVID-19 reflect the TOTAL number of people who tested positive for the virus. Numbers listed in the Recovered or Death columns come from the total number of people who tested positive for the virus. Regardless of the outcome, recovered or death, if a staff member or offender receives a positive test result, they are classified as a positive case.
How is IDOC testing offenders: We are testing those with symptoms and exposure risk, based on clinical decision making and in a targeted manner in accordance with CDC guidelines. COVID-19 Offender Quarantine and Isolation | Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed, or potentially exposed, to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. Isolation separates sick people who may have a contagious disease from those who are not sick.
