Testing for Travel-Related Illnesses

Based on a patient’s symptoms and history of travel, you may suspect a travel-related illness requiring testing. At IDOH, testing is only available for certain conditions, found below.

Other Diseases and Conditions

IDOH can assist in arranging testing at CDC for certain diseases and conditions of public health importance. Contact the Epidemiology Resource Center to consult with the subject-matter expert on current testing guidance. For testing of other travel-related illnesses, please contact your hospital or reference lab.
