BDS provider application process

BDS is currently accepting applications for new Home and Community-Based Waiver providers. The announcement about the new provider approval process may be found by clicking here and the updated Approval Process Policy may be reviewed by clicking here. The BDS provider application process includes a mandatory one-day, in-person initial session of the BDS Leadership Training Series for executive team members designed to equip prospective providers with the knowledge to begin their BDS provider journey successfully. This training session is completed upon provisional approval of the new provider application and must be completed within one year of provisional approval. These sessions are held quarterly in the Indiana Government Center South Conference Center. 2024 training session dates are:

  • Monday, April 22, 2024, from 9 .am. - 4 p.m.
  • Monday, July 22, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Monday, October 21, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

All training sessions are held in IGC-South, Conference Rooms B and C unless otherwise noted. Advance registration is required. A participant must have received provisional approval by BDS and registered at least 72 business hours before the session. Provider applicants with provisional approval can register by contacting BDS Provider Services at BDSProviderServices@fssa.in.gov.

BDS case management company application process

The state is not currently accepting applications to provide HCBS case management waiver services through BDS. In lieu of an application, a Request for Services has been announced for the delivery of waiver case management services on the Community Integration and Habilitation waiver, and Family Supports waiver.

Providers are required on, at minimum, a quarterly basis to complete provider attestation in the BDS Portal. Providers have access to update the Provider Profile and are expected to do so. If you have questions, please refer to the BDS Portal User Guide for Providers located in the Resource Section of the BDS Portal under the “User Guides” tab. If you have not yet registered for the BDS Portal, please contact BDSProviderServices@fssa.in.gov to request an invite. If you are in need of technical assistance, you may submit a Jira ticket.

Rate methodology stakeholder webinar

In March 2019, FSSA hosted a stakeholder webinar to introduce its home- and community-based services rate methodology project.
