Attention Hoosier Employers, HR Personnel and CPA’s
This year you will notice a decrease in the amount you must pay the federal government in Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) premiums. This is due to the fact that in the fall of 2015, The State of Indiana repaid in full the unemployment insurance trust fund loan from the federal government, which was incurred during the Great Recession. As a result, FUTA taxes paid in 2016 will be $42 per employee, instead of $126 per employee. Click here for an example of IRS form 940, schedule A for 2015, payable 2016, which outlines the lack of FUTA credit reductions in 2016 for Hoosier employers.

WIOA Unified State Plan Draft
Indiana is required to submit a Unified State Plan initial draft to the US Department of Labor (DOL) and US Department of Education by March 3, 2016. Public comments were accepted through December 23, 2015. Click here for more information.

Governor Pence Announces Full Payoff of Unemployment Insurance Loan
