Performance Management

The Quality, Metrics and Statistics (QMS) Division is tasked with assisting with performance management of the Indiana Department of Labor. QMS strives to effectively advance the health, safety and prosperity of Hoosiers in the workplace by providing accurate and consistent data for managers and supervisors to utilize in guiding their teams.

Performance metrics for the most recent quarter are available here.

QMS also reports management statistics for each division within the Indiana Department of Labor, as well as quarterly performance metrics submitted to the Indiana Office of Management and Budget and the Office of the Governor.

Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses

Each year, QMS administers the annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) on behalf of the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This survey is conducted by federal and state programs nationwide to estimate the number of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses that occur in the United States each year. For more information, please visit www.in.gov/dol/2341.htm.

QMS also partners with BLS to complete the annual Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI). The CFOI includes data for nearly all work-related fatalities that occur in Indiana each year. For more information, please visit www.in.gov/dol/2341.htm.
