The Indiana Trail 100
We are very pleased to announce that the only 100 mile trail race in the state of Indiana will be held at Chain O' Lakes State Park in Albion, Indiana on April 25-26, 2015. Please note that there will also be a 50 mile race option on the same course with the 100 mile race. There will be a 30 hour time limit for the 100 milers and a 15 hour time limit for the 50 milers. Registration is now open, so we invite you to enter now and become part of the group to run in the annual Indiana Trail 100. The Indiana Trail 100 is a non-profit event managed by ultra-runners with the net proceeds going back to the park. We are convinced that once you run on our scenic course you will keep coming back. We will help you achieve your goal, whether it's your first 50 or 100 miler or setting your personal record time. Registration is limited to 330 participants.

One of North America's largest ultra marathons is held at Chain O’Lakes State Park every year. The race in 2015 will be held on December 19th. This event also includes a 3-person 50K Relay and a One-Loop Run (10 Mile). There are discounted fees for 19 and under relay entrants. The trail is easy enough to be a good first-time trail course; technical enough to give an advantage to seasoned trail runners. Measure yourself against time, distance...and weather! We're known for the great post-race foods - particularly our array of soups. Overall men's and women's winner of the 50K receive a large, engraved, granite trophy.
Custom finisher's medal to each participant completing The HUFF 50K individual race or a HUFF 50K Relay. The medal is also a belt buckle. HUFF logo gear for all 50K and 50K Relay participants comes with registration.

Course Descriptions: Distances: 1km swim, 13-mile mountain bike, 5-mile trail run

Run: The run course uses most of the park's hiking trails, including trails 1, 2 and 3. There will be several steep up-and-down hills, rooty sections, and stairs. It is a challenging course. An aid station will be located at the transition area and at approximately miles 1 and 3 on the run course, at a two-way portion of trail connecting Trail 1 to Trail 2.
Awards: Overall top three men and women receive plaques. Top three in each age group receive medals. XTERRA sponsors provide several nice items given at random. While competitors await the awards presentation, they can enjoy fruit, cookies, and a sandwich from Subway of Versailles.
Camping: Available on site. Sites can be reserved through indiana.reserveworld.com.
Directions: Versailles State Park is about 2 miles east of Versailles on U.S. 50, which connects to I-65 at Seymour or to I-275 west of Cincinnati (use exit 16, Lawrenceburg). Versailles is about 30 miles from either interchange.
Volksmarches provide a great opportunity to get to know other people who enjoy walking and hiking. "Volksmarch" is a German term, literally meaning “a people's walk”. Local clubs host walks that have been chosen for natural beauty, scenic interest, historical value and safety. The trails are well-marked or maps are provided. Walks usually consist of a marked or guided 10 kilometer (6.2 mile) route. Each participant is encouraged to walk at a pace that is comfortable and enjoyable.
Volksmarching events have been held at Indiana state parks and reservoirs for many years. The events for 2015 are as follows:
- April 11: - Harmonie State Park
- May 9: - Shakamak State Park
- August 8: - Hardy Lake
- August 22: - Brown County State Park
- October 24: - Versailles State Park
Two Indiana State Parks are year-round volksmarch sites:
