  • Approximately 83% of the total forestland  in Indiana is privately owned. (Forests of Indiana, 2021 – USDA Forest Service). In 2019, 3.97 million acres of timberland was classified as "private" ownership.
  • More than 877,851 acres (18,127 tracts) have been enrolled into the Classified Forest program. (2024)
