Healthy Pregnancy App
The Indiana State Department of Health released a new mobile application aimed at improving infant and maternal health in Indiana. The free app is called Liv, and promotes early prenatal care and education about pregnancy. It includes interactive calendar and journal features, more than 100 articles, checklists and how-to's based on best medical practices, and links to community resources.
Commission Approves Recommendations to Modify Mental Health Licensing
The Commission voted to approve recommendations from its Mental Health and Substance Abuse Task Force to modify the licensing requirements for Licensed Mental Health Counselors to bring them in line with the majority of other states and Master's Degree programs. Commission Appoints Executive Director
The Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana (CISC) appointed Julie Whitman as its first Executive Director. Her appointment took effect September 11, 2017. View press release

2017 Annual Report

Indiana Safe Sleep Program
This collaboration between the State Department of Health and the Deprtment of Child Services creates partnerships with agencies to provide safe sleep education and Infant Survival Kits for families who do not have safe places for their infants to sleep. Learn more about the Safe Sleep Program
