Nonrule Policies

A nonrule policy document is intended to clarify for the public an agency's interpretation of a statute or rule. It is not intended to have the effect of law, nor is not related solely to internal agency organization. Nonrule policy documents are authorized by Ind. Code ยง 4-22-7-7(a)(5).  A nonrule policy document becomes effective upon adoption and shall be sent for publication in the Indiana Register.
