Reviewer Opportunities

Application Reviewer Interest

Thank you for your interest in serving as a reviewer or panelist for the Indiana Arts Commission. Reviewers play a significant role in application evaluation for funding or other services by reviewing and providing comments on submitted applications. Depending on the program, reviewers may also discuss applications during a panel meeting with fellow reviewers. All reviewers receive a stipend for their time and expertise. Stipends vary by program.

Current Reviewer Opportunity: Arts Project Support Grant Program

The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) is seeking reviewers to support the Arts Project Support (APS) grant application evaluation. APS provides funding to support a public-facing short-term arts project or a series of arts activities.  Examples include performances; exhibits; arts festivals; arts and cultural planning; arts learning for specific populations such as older adults or youth; public art or some other arts-based or arts-serving activity.

Reviewers play a significant role in application evaluation for public funding by reviewing, scoring, and providing comments on submitted applications. The IAC seeks a variety of experiences and backgrounds to foster greater dialogue, awareness, and understanding, while also including the many perspectives that make up the state of Indiana to review and evaluate grant applications.

Selected reviewers can expect the following:

  • March 26, 2026 at 10AM ET: attend a virtual reviewer training
  • April 2026: review and evaluate applications, with an estimated commitment of 40 hours over five weeks
  • All reviews are completed remotely in the IAC online grants management system without convening for a panel discussion
  • Receive a stipend of $500 for attending the virtual reviewer training and reviewing applications by scoring and providing written comments for each

  • Artists of all kinds
  • Arts educators

What do I need to review applications?

  • Reviewers need reliable internet and a computer to submit reviews in the IAC online grants management system
  • All other materials, including instructions to access the online grants system, program guidelines, criteria, scoring rubric, and additional reviewer guidance is provided by the IAC at the beginning of the review period
