IAC > Grant Programs > Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites

The Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites program was launched under the name "Arts in the Parks" during Indiana's Bicentennial year, in partnership with the Indiana Bicentennial Commission and the Department of Natural Resources, as an on-going, legacy gift to the citizens of Indiana.

Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites draws upon traditional and non-traditional arts and artists in Indiana, weaving arts into our state’s natural beauty and rural settings. The program provides funding for arts program related projects that encourage the creation of and public engagement with art about the Indiana state park/forest system and historic sites. In addition to program funding, the Indiana Arts Commission hosted workshops and webinars to help artists interested in getting involved with the Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites program.

Partners

Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites started as a partnership between the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Endorsed by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, this program enables Indiana citizens to not only enjoy arts activities at Indiana State Parks, but also celebrates the Indiana Bicentennial, the Centennial of Indiana State Parks, and the 50th Anniversary of the IAC. In CY17 the program has expanded to partner with and include Indiana Historic Sites.
